XANNE was my submission for the Rivals of Aether 2 Character Creation Contest. She boasts great air control, with multiple jumps thanks to her graffiti powered rocket boots. Her core gimmick is placing down graffiti 'walls' midair - allowing her access to a midair 'wavegrind' dash that compensates for her weak horizontal movement. Land enough attacks after a wavegrind to get a temporary boost that allows you to wavegrind anywhere!
NOVA is a futuristic swordfighter, originally made in a month for the EXW Unorthodox Jam (and placing 3rd out of 20+ submissions). They feature basic normals but complex specials designed around time travel. Their neutral special lets them 'blink' through time, cancelling any attack into a teleport. Be careful, as this move leaves behind a vulnerable 'Time Wraith' which, if hit, will damage Nova as well. You can, however, use the time wraith as a manually activated explosion for further stage control.
TORREN is a fast-paced rushdown character. Inspired by Bayonetta, Ken, and Mii Brawler from Super Smash Bros, he boasts blistering speeds and a great combo game. Though his strong attacks are weak, they allow him to "zoom" to follow the opponent - giving him a chance get a high damaging combo with his Forward-Special or secure the kill with his Up-Special. SKY-HIGH SCAFFOLDING is a stage that transitions between 3 unique layouts as the game progresses. Each layout is accompanied by a daytime progression, from daytime to sunset to night. All of the pixel art and code was made by me.
